Aruga is a development by Rockwell Land located in Barangay Punta Engaño in Mactan. It is about 25 minutes (11km) from the international airport. In the Philippines, the competition at the high end of the market is between Rockwell and Shang Properties (Shangri-La) and they both have a reputation for delivering quality. To many foreigners, Rockwell might not mean very much, so this comparison with Shang is meant to give the proper context to potential buyers in terms of where Rockwell stands as a brand.
Aruga is planned as a mixed residential-resort development, and after its completion, there will be 3 towers, as well as villas above the beach area of the property. Currently tower 1 as well as the villas are expecting completion by 1Q 2025. The second tower, located between tower 1 and 2 is expected to be a hotel; however, the brand for the hotel has not been announced yet. The third tower is expected to be residences as well, with the rumor being that the developer will once again try to elevate the brand with an even more exclusive offering.
